Local Officer Training Workshop

Buffalo High School—October 15, 2007

In an effort to work with chapters on a closer level and provide a better training opportunity for your local officer teams, the state officers have planned local officer training workshops (LEADS).  These workshops will focus on teambuilding, goal setting, creating a Program of Work and getting the most out of your officer team.  The following should answer some questions that you might have.

Host Chapters

This year, Buffalo (NE Quadrant), Cheyenne East and Cheyenne Central (SE Quadrant), Wheatland (SE Quadrant) and Rocky Mountain (NW Quadrant) have volunteered to host LEADS.  We did not have any volunteers to host in the southwest quadrant, so southwest schools are welcome to attend LEADS in one of the other quadrants. 

Cheyenne East and Central will be hosting at the Central Administration Building at 2810 House Avenue.  You will be provided with more information on the exact location of LEADS in each community once plans are finalized. 

Registration Fee/Deadline

The registration fee will be $10 this year.  This fee will include lunch.  Of the $10 collected, the host chapter(s) will receive $7 per attendee and Wyoming FBLA will keep $3 per attendee to help defray travel costs and other costs associated with putting on the workshop.  The registration deadline for each workshop will be one week prior to the workshop date.

Meals/Snacks

The host chapter will be responsible for setting up lunch and snacks.  If any of the other chapters in attendance would like to volunteer to help by bringing the morning or afternoon snack, that would be very much appreciated.  Please contact the adviser for the host chapter in your quadrant if you would like to volunteer to provide snacks.

Agenda

An agenda for the workshop follows.  The agenda will be the same at all workshops.  The state officers will bring all materials needed for the presentation.

Other

LEADS will be high-energy, and hands-on. Members should wear casual attire.
