February 2010 State Officer BriefPrint “Let
him that would move the world, first move himself.” Greetings from the 09-10 State Officer Team! March will be upon us soon and we look forward to seeing all of you in Sheridan! Our work is continuous in preparing for a great state conference this year. Hopefully everyone is feeling prepared and excited for this amazing opportunity! But in case not all are feeling ready as time speeds past, here is a preliminary checklist to look to:
Advisors Thank you so much for your time, effort, and encouragement for your chapters in this busy time of year. All the work you do goes far above and beyond what’s required of you and we do notice and thank you for it! As we all find ourselves in different places along the FBLA journey, check out the personalized bulletins that follow to make sure we can all GET CARRIED AWAY in our own style! Seniors This is it! Coming to the finale of FBLA Senior year, the state officers would like to give a big congrats to you for sticking with such a great organization, whether for just one year or many more. We wish you the best of luck, not only at State (which will hopefully be the best year yet as far as awards go) but also as you go on to bigger and better things! Keep FBLA on your resumes, look for a PBL Chapter wherever you end up for college, and/or keep in touch with contacts you’ve made in FBLA as they can prove to be long lasting and the most rewarding in the business world. Candidates for State Office We are so excited for the upcoming State Officers to have as much fun as we have in our positions! Congratulations to you for having already gone to all the work in preparing, and we sincerely hope you succeed in this goal. You already have a checklist to get through so I’ll try not to add to your load, but here are a few things to keep you moving forward: Work on your speech (again and again), practice with friends or advisors on questions you may be asked, and have all your stuff together for easy transport to Sheridan! Good Luck! Feel free to contact any one of the State Officers for last minute tips or questions! All Members: Underclassmen & Business Enthusiasts! Whether State is a first time event for you, a new adventure not yet attempted, another attempt at that First place trophy, or a get-out-of-school card for a fun activity, you are no doubt in for a momentous, life altering weekend! From meeting friends, to extreme (or maybe not quite that intense) competitions, to workshops with inspiring people, State can move you if you are willing to move. Like our friend Socrates says, if we are willing to move ourselves, we can move the world. That is the big picture, and State FBLA is the little starting step. So take advantage on a big level. Go to the workshops, participate in all the activities, listen to your peers in some of the open events, hear the candidates and their campaign speeches, and visit the booths throughout the conference. The State Officer role may be one for you in the future; the possibilities are endless, so keep an open mind! Good luck and SEE YOU IN SHERIDAN! Again, GOOD LUCK in all your events and have a wonderful State Conference! Sincerely, |
